JFIF to PNG converter

Convert .jfif images, which are JPEGs with an unusual file ending, into PNGs for design apps and forms that ask for PNG.

Runs in your browser. Your file is never uploaded.

How to convert JFIF to PNG

  1. 1Drop one or more .jfif images into the box above.
  2. 2Leave PNG selected. PNG is lossless, so there's no quality setting.
  3. 3Select Convert, then download the PNGs one at a time or as a ZIP.

What you get

  • One PNG per image, with the same name and a .png ending.
  • Every pixel is kept exactly, so there's no further quality loss.
  • The PNG is usually several times larger than the JFIF, because PNG stores every pixel without loss.
  • Up to 5 images at a time without an account, 10 with a free account and 30 with Pro.

Limits

  • Without an account: files up to 25 MB, 5 files at a time.
  • With a free account: up to 50 MB, 10 files at a time.
  • Very large files depend on your device's memory, because the work happens in your browser.

What happens to your file

Your file never leaves your device. The conversion runs in your browser using code from our site, and we don't receive the file, its name or anything inside it. How we handle files.

JFIF to PNG: common questions

What is a JFIF file?
A JPEG with a .jfif ending, usually saved from Chrome or Edge on Windows. Most apps open it once it's renamed to .jpg; PNG is for when you specifically need PNG.
Will the background become transparent?
No. JFIF images are JPEGs, which have no transparency, so the background stays as it is.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Your browser does the conversion, so the images don't reach our server.
