HEIC to JPG converter

Convert a batch of iPhone HEIC photos to JPG in one go and download them together as a ZIP. Your browser does the conversion, so the photos stay on your device.

Runs in your browser. Your file is never uploaded.

How to convert HEIC to JPG

  1. 1Drop your HEIC photos into the box above. Outside Safari, the first one loads a 2 MB decoder.
  2. 2Leave JPG selected and pick a quality. 90 is the default.
  3. 3Select Convert, check the size of each photo, and download one at a time or all as a ZIP.

What you get

  • One JPG per photo, with the same name and a .jpg ending.
  • Photos come out the right way up, using the orientation the iPhone recorded.
  • Location, camera and date details are not copied into the JPG.
  • If a HEIC file holds several images, only the main one is converted.
  • Up to 5 images at a time without an account, 10 with a free account and 30 with Pro.

Limits

  • Without an account: files up to 25 MB, 5 files at a time.
  • With a free account: up to 50 MB, 10 files at a time.
  • Very large files depend on your device's memory, because the work happens in your browser.

What happens to your file

Your file never leaves your device. The conversion runs in your browser using code from our site, and we don't receive the file, its name or anything inside it. How we handle files.

HEIC to JPG: common questions

How do I convert lots of HEIC files to JPG at once?
Select them all in the file picker, or drag the whole selection onto the box, then select Convert. Every photo is converted and you can download them together as one ZIP. Up to 5 images at a time without an account, 10 with a free account and 30 with Pro.
Does this work on Windows and in Chrome?
Yes. Safari reads HEIC itself. In Chrome, Edge and Firefox we load a HEIC decoder (about 2 MB) the first time you add a HEIC photo and decode it in your browser.
Why are my converted photos sideways?
They shouldn't be: we apply the orientation the iPhone recorded before saving the JPG. If one still comes out rotated, the photo's orientation tag is missing, and Rotate in any photo app fixes it.
Is the JPG bigger than the HEIC?
Usually, yes. HEIC compresses about twice as well as JPG, so a 2 MB HEIC often becomes a 3 to 5 MB JPG at quality 90. The results table shows the exact size of each photo; lower the quality if you need them smaller.
How do I stop my iPhone saving HEIC?
Go to Settings > Camera > Formats and choose Most Compatible. New photos are then saved as JPG; existing photos stay HEIC.
