How to convert WebP to PNG

What you get

  • Animated WebP keeps its first frame only.

Limits

  • Without an account: files up to 25 MB, 5 files at a time.
  • With a free account: up to 50 MB, 10 files at a time.
  • Very large files depend on your device's memory, because the work happens in your browser.

WebP to PNG: common questions

Does converting WebP to PNG lose quality?
No further loss. PNG is lossless, so the PNG holds exactly the pixels the WebP decoded to. If the WebP was lossy to begin with, that original loss stays.
Why is the PNG so much bigger?
WebP uses lossy compression for photos; PNG never does. A 200 KB WebP photo can become a 1 to 2 MB PNG. The results table shows the size of each file, and JPG is the better choice if you don't need transparency.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser and the images don't reach our server.
