Image converter

Convert HEIC, WebP, PNG and JPG images to JPG, PNG or WebP, many at a time.

Runs in your browser. Your file is never uploaded.

Image converter in short

Add one or more images: HEIC, WebP, AVIF, PNG or JPG, then pick the format you want and, for JPG and WebP, a quality, then download the converted images one at a time or together as a ZIP, with the size change shown for each. It's free, there's no sign-up, and it runs in your browser, so the file never leaves your device.

How to use Image converter

  1. 1Add one or more images: HEIC, WebP, AVIF, PNG or JPG.
  2. 2Pick the format you want and, for JPG and WebP, a quality.
  3. 3Download the converted images one at a time or together as a ZIP, with the size change shown for each.

Good to know

  • Photos are turned the right way up using the camera's orientation tag, so sideways iPhone shots come out upright.
  • Converted files carry no EXIF data, which removes camera details and GPS location.
  • JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white. PNG and WebP keep them.
  • Saving as WebP depends on the browser. Chrome, Edge and Firefox can; if yours can't, the tool says so before you convert.
  • HEIC works in every current browser. Safari decodes it itself; elsewhere a 2 MB decoder downloads the first time you add one.
  • This tool runs in your browser. Very large files depend on your device's memory.

Image converter: common questions

Is Image converter free?
Yes. Image converter is free and works without an account, for images up to 25 MB, 5 at a time. A free account raises that to 50 MB and 10 at a time.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Image converter runs in your web browser, so the file is read on your own device and never sent to ConvertFile.
Does Image converter work on Mac, Windows, Android and iPhone?
Yes. It runs in any modern web browser, with nothing to install. Very large files work best on a desktop or laptop, because in-browser tools use your device's memory.
