Equaliser

Boost the bass, clear up voices or tame harsh treble with a 10-band equaliser.

Runs in your browser. Your file is never uploaded.

An online equaliser and bass booster

Equaliser adjusts the tone of an audio file with ten bands from deep bass at 31 Hz to air at 16 kHz. Start from a preset such as Bass boost, Treble boost, Clearer voice, Loudness or Reduce rumble, then fine-tune the sliders.

The changes are saved into the file, so it sounds the same on every speaker, headphone and app.

Equaliser in short

Choose an audio file, then pick a preset or move the sliders, then pick the format and download. It's free, there's no sign-up, and it runs in your browser, so the file never leaves your device.

Good to know

  • Small changes of 3 to 6 dB usually sound best. Big boosts can distort.
  • The first time you use an audio or video tool, your browser downloads our 31 MB processing engine. It's kept for next time, so later runs start straight away.
  • This tool runs in your browser. Very large files depend on your device's memory.

Common fixes

  • More bass

Add weight to music played on laptops and phones.

  • Clearer voices

Lift the mid-range and cut boom for podcasts and lectures.

  • Less rumble

Remove low hum from traffic, air-conditioning or handling noise.

  • Brighter sound

Add treble to dull or muffled recordings.

Equaliser: common questions

How do I boost the bass of an MP3?
Choose the file, pick Bass boost, adjust the lowest sliders if you want more, and select Apply.
How do I make a voice recording clearer?
Try the Clearer voice preset. It cuts low boom and lifts the frequencies where speech sits.
Why does it distort?
Big boosts push the level too high. Keep changes to 3–6 dB, or lower other bands instead of raising one.
Is Equaliser free?
Yes. Equaliser is free, works without an account and adds no watermark, for files up to 500 MB. Pro raises that to 2 GB.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Equaliser runs in your web browser, so the file is read on your own device and never sent to ConvertFile.
Does Equaliser work on Mac, Windows, Android and iPhone?
Yes. It runs in any modern web browser, with nothing to install. Very large files work best on a desktop or laptop, because in-browser tools use your device's memory.
