  • Animated GIFs give their first frame only. To keep the animation in a smaller file, use GIF to MP4.
  • Up to 5 images at a time without an account, 10 with a free account and 30 with Pro.

Limits

  • Without an account: files up to 25 MB, 5 files at a time.
  • With a free account: up to 50 MB, 10 files at a time.
  • Very large files depend on your device's memory, because the work happens in your browser.

GIF to PNG: common questions

Does GIF to PNG lose quality?
No. Both are lossless, so the PNG has exactly the GIF's pixels. It won't add colours the GIF never had, but you can now edit it without being held to 256 colours.
What happens to an animated GIF?
Only the first frame is saved. If you want the animation in a format that plays everywhere and is much smaller, convert it to MP4 instead.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Your browser does the conversion, so the images don't reach our server.
