Remove pages

Delete the pages you don't need and keep the rest.

Runs in your browser. Your file is never uploaded.

Remove pages in short

Add a PDF, click the thumbnails of the pages you want gone (or type their numbers), then select Remove selected pages and download. Everything else stays as it was: page order, the document title, bookmarks and fillable form fields. The removed pages' text and images are deleted from the file, not just hidden. It all runs in your browser, so the PDF isn't uploaded.

How to use Remove pages

  1. 1Add a PDF.
  2. 2Click page thumbnails or type a range to mark pages for removal.
  3. 3Download the shorter file.

Good to know

  • Removing a page removes it from the page tree. Unreferenced content is dropped when the file is saved.
  • Page numbers mean physical positions in the file: page 1 is the first page, whatever number is printed on it.
  • This tool runs in your browser. Very large files depend on your device's memory.

Removing page 2 from a 4-page lease

We removed page 2 from a sample lease with four bookmarks, a link, two filled-in form fields and a signature field, then checked the saved file byte by byte.

Limits

  • Without an account: files up to 25 MB and 150 pages. With a free account: 50 MB and 400 pages.
  • You must keep at least one page.
  • Page numbers are positions in the file, starting at 1, not the numbers printed on the pages.

What happens to your file

Remove pages runs in this browser tab. Your PDF is read and rewritten on your own device and handed back as a download; it is never sent to ConvertFile. We record only that the tool was used (its name and whether it finished), never file names, sizes or contents. Closing the tab discards everything.

If something goes wrong

A bookmark doesn't go anywhere after removing pages
Bookmarks that pointed at a removed page stay in the list but have nothing to open. Your PDF reader may let you delete them.
The file is password-protected
Use Unlock PDF with its password first, then remove pages from the unlocked copy.
I need to remove part of a page, not the whole page
Removing pages works on whole pages only. Cropping hides content but doesn't delete it, so don't use it to remove sensitive information.

Guides

  • How to reduce PDF file size

Make a PDF smaller for email or an upload form: compress the images, cut pages you don't need, or split it. Tested figures, the attachment limits of Gmail and Outlook, and what not to bother with.

  • Why a compressed PDF is still too large

Compression only shrinks images, and only some of them. Tested results on scans, photos, screenshots and text show why a PDF stays big, and what to do when it's still over the limit.

Remove pages: common questions

Is Remove pages free?
Yes. Remove pages is free and works without an account, for files up to 25 MB and 150 pages. A free account raises that to 50 MB and 400 pages.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Remove pages runs in your web browser, so the file is read on your own device and never sent to ConvertFile.
How do I delete a single page from a PDF?
Add the PDF, click the thumbnail of the page you want gone (or type its number), then download. The new file contains every other page in the original order.
Does Remove pages work on Mac, Windows, Android and iPhone?
Yes. It runs in any modern web browser, with nothing to install. Very large files work best on a desktop or laptop, because in-browser tools use your device's memory.
